Jean-François Ouellet
Director, Consulting and Innovation
Jean-François Ouellet holds a bachelor’s degree in science and has completed several specialized training courses related to airport management and operations. From 2015 to 2022, he was the general manager of Sherbrooke Airport. He has also held senior management positions in economic and tourism development and has been a private entrepreneur.
Jean-François has considerable experience in the public and private sectors, having served on the Quebec Airports Network’s board of directors, the board of the Canadian Airports Association, and the board of the Association Québécoise du Transport Aérien. During his time at Sherbrooke Airport, he consistently showed a desire to create innovation-based best practices for the industry while leading teams that carried out large-scale projects. He is currently interested in sustainable development, focusing on the carbon and environmental footprints of activities relating to air transport.
His strong work ethic has earned Jean-François recognition from several industry organizations. In 2017, the Canadian Association of Owners and Pilots of Aircraft awarded him the title of airport manager of the year. He was also a finalist in the Quebec Airports Network’s 2019 members recognition program.
At Explorer Solutions, Jean-François leads the consulting team and supervises aspects of Explorer Solutions services including all airport consulting, training, operations, and compliance activities. He also participates in the strategic development of the company and plays an active role in customer relations and business development in the Quebec and pan-Canadian markets.
