Jason Kipfer

Director, Economic Development

Jason has been leading the Economic Development Division of Explorer Solutions since 2016. He is routinely involved in a variety of economic impact studies, business case and feasibility studies, strategic positioning, highest and best land use development scenarios, business investment attraction, cross-border trade with US suppliers and customers, gap and supply chain analyses, site selection, innovation hub development and cluster development and analyses. These services help Jason in delivering local economic development solutions within the tourism, agriculture, and manufacturing sectors for which he is primarily engaged. His work has taken him from coast to coast across Canada from Vancouver Island in British Columbia to Summerside, Prince Edward Island and south of the border throughout the Midwestern United States.

Additionally, Jason brings an economic development perspective to addressing challenges faced by airports and the aviation industry. He has played key roles in conducting research on the aviation and aerospace industry; has led consultations with general aviation enthusiasts, commercial operators and those involved in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO); completed a number of benchmarking projects focused on airports and airparks; and has undertaken a number of highest and best land use scenarios to help airports generate new sources of revenues. The outcomes of which are having a lasting economic impact on the local communities in which he works ranging from job creation to investment attraction, increase property assessments, new forms of tax revenue generation, commercial and industrial construction, among other economic benefits.
